ABOUT THE MATERIALS…

As human beings, we have the choice to live as sustainably as possible while still using durable, quality products that enhance our daily lives. Here at Billy Wolf, we make the easy choice to use natural, sustainable, and renewable materials that support our environment as well as our customer’s needs.

HARDWARE

Our solid brass hardware’s are known for their durability, timeless appeal, and resilience against the elements. As a hard metal, brass breaks down less quickly than others such as zinc and aluminum and can be up to 300% more reliable. We also finish all our collars and leashes with hand-stamped copper rivets due to their strength, resistance to corrosion, and antimicrobial properties. Brass hardware’s will stay bright and beautiful for years!

WOOL

Wool is natural and breathable, as well as being static resistant and biodegradable. This material is appealing because of it’s anti-wrinkle properties and the ease with which it can be cleaned. Sheep’s wool is also water-resistant and insulating, which makes it perfect for any element, including snowy weather.

FAUX SHERPA

Our faux sherpa fabric is a high-pile fleece that offers excellent thermal retention while being breathable and warm without additional weight. Sherpa is a wonderful way to stay sustainable, while not sacrificing comfort or fashion. Not to mention, it’s like sleeping on a cloud!

LEATHER

There are not many materials as durable, breathable, and versatile as leather. On average, leather tends to hold out against the elements up to 600% longer than other materials, and will outlive all synthetic materials. Personally, we use high-quality buffalo and cow hides sourced from the USA. Made to last a lifetime, the leather will break in with use, wearing to a soft patina.

COTTON

The longer the Staple, the better the cotton. The extra long fibers mean super durable cotton that is resistant to pilling. As a natural fiber, cotton does not have the toxins that may appear in other materials such as polyester. Cotton is also naturally hypoallergenic. We source American and Japanese cotton fabrics: Waxed canvas, denim, duck canvas, flannels and printed sheeting.
